VISITING THE SCHOOLS and HUMANITARIAN VISITS
Sometimes you just need to go to a Junior High School song and dance recital.
It was Xhoana's Recital and we told her for sure we would attend. Junior High is about the same as I remember my Junior High School with a twist of Traditional Albanian song and dance and festival costumes .....
Men's traditional Hat--Lorin is Styling Baby!
Our next visit was to the High School to do work with the Red Cross Program about No Smoking, No Alcohol and No Drugs.
I could have smacked the coordinator of the Red Cross that goes from city to city --he told the kids that well its okay to drink a little bit because of our traditional festivities, funerals, weddings and he went on and on giving them the Green Flag to drink. I don't think he thought I understood what was being said, but I most certainly did and did not appreciate him placing the Church who sponsored the program with the name on the church associated with his comments! Our Humanitarian couple certainly didn't understand and has been traveling from city to city with him.
However, we did have three of the very best students come up and GIVE US THEIR PHONE NUMBERS TO CONTACT THEM! One named Kristi gave a wonderful demonstration on his own :
I WANT TO LIVE NOT DIE
with every cigarette you cross out one of the words until well you DIE.
Shirla translated for me and we talked so much that she mess up the powerpoint. But we found out that these great kids are connected to the Lion's Club and We had just met with Memousa that very morning to coordinate humanitarian work for Pogradec. God's timing is INCREDIBLE!
Memousa is connected with the Lion's Club in Chicago has worked with the City of Pogradec, Worked with the Tirana Mayor, The American Ambassador Russian Embassy all to help and assist the Albanian People. She and her husband own a hotel/restaurant here in Pogradec--Hotel Perla
Projects we are proceeding with:
